Central location directly on the beach. Arguineguin, with about 2,300 inhabitants, has still managed to preserve its original charm in the coastal area. It is located on the GC-1 motorway in the south of Gran Canaria between Maspalomas and Puerto Rico. It has several beaches and a marina, but tourism here is not yet as pronounced as in the neighbouring villages. Most of the tourists come from Scandinavian countries.
Everyday life mostly takes place in the harbour, from where ships sail to Puerto de Mogán and Puerto Rico. The docks are also located here and the fish caught are processed in the adjacent halls. There is always plenty of fresh fish in the numerous restaurants and bars.
